Career
Iphie’s journey into the world of broadcasting began in 2003 as a TV presenter. Her career took a significant turn when she joined Silverbird Communications in 2009, a move that saw her transition to Rhythm 95.7 FM and Silverbird Television in Awka. Known for her versatility, she hosted a variety of shows, including Rhythm & Soul, Gospel Vibes, and E-Merge. Her career later led her to Rhythm 93.7 FM in Port Harcourt, where she continued to captivate audiences with her engaging personality.
In addition to her radio and television work, Iphie was a three-time host of the Miss Niger Delta beauty pageant, showcasing her ability to connect with a wide range of audiences.
Tragic Death
On June 2, 2015, Iphie’s life was tragically ended in a senseless act of violence. While returning to Port Harcourt after visiting her family in Aba, the vehicle she was traveling in was attacked by armed bandits. In a hail of gunfire, Iphie sustained fatal injuries and succumbed to her wounds.
Another version of events suggests that Iphie was with her boyfriend when they were ambushed by gunmen near her residence. The attackers reportedly opened fire as they attempted to flee, and while her boyfriend was captured, Iphie was left critically injured. Despite the best efforts of neighbors who rushed her to a nearby hospital, she was pronounced dead on arrival.
Iphie’s untimely death left a void in the hearts of her family, friends, colleagues, and countless fans who admired her work and spirit.
